Hot Spring Waters

The Water

Numerous springs emerge on the property with temperatures varying from 80º to 100ºF. All of the springs flow cleanly and are pure with no sulfurous odor. See Water Analysis. Four natural ponds are scattered across the hillside, built directly over the largest and warmest of the springs. These gravel-bottomed ponds are a place for peaceful soaking as the warm water bubbles up from the earth beneath you. All of the ponds are communal; there are no private ponds or tubs.

The swimming pool measures twenty by eighty feet. It has a small shallow end and a diving board. A temperature of 88ºF is maintained by the constant flow of water through it and it is not chlorinated. The deck around the swimming pool is a favorite place to soak up the sun. Each Wednesday the swimming pool is drained cleaned and refilled by evening. A hot tub located near the swimming pool is heated to 104º - 107ºF. The hot tub is cleaned several times a week, but only takes about an hour or so. Clothing is optional. All of the pool and pond areas at Orient Land Trust are no-smoking.
