Vehicle Camping Loop
Approximately 21 sites spaced out along a quarter-mile dirt road loop.
Availability may be limited by mud or snow, so please call to check on
conditions, especially from November through early-May. Sites I through Q are often closed in the winter months.
All sites are "primitive" without hookups,
though several are in reach of outlets if you have a long extension cord
(50'-100'). In general there are:
No Pull-Through sites ~ No Hook-ups ~ No Dump Stations ~ No Use of Generators (sound carries everywhere here and generators can be heard in every campsite and pond!)
What we DO have...
Spectacular Views ~ Clean Air and Pure Water ~ Beautiful Sunsets ~ Incredible Starry Nights ~ 24-hour access to Pools and Ponds
The vehicle camping area is mostly out in the open, though there are
some shady spots on the east side of the loop. Many sites - particularly those
on the west side overlooking the valley - have dramatic views. All sites
have a picnic table. IMPORTANT NOTE: Campfires are no longer permitted at individual
campsites due to chronic drought conditions and fire safety concerns. There is a large fire pit and free firewood in the Picnic Pavilion in the center of the Vehicle Camping Loop. Campers have
use of all facilities including the Oak House kitchen and dining area. Though
the loop is designed for campers, trailers, and RVs, you may tent camp here
though you must specifically reserve a Vehicle site (not a Tent site). There is a $5 per night charge for Vehicle sites in addition to the nightly per adult admission fee.

Important: We take camping reservations 7 days a week from May through October. During the summer and early fall, campsites end up full virtually every weekend AND on many weeknights, so reservations are HIGHLY recommended. We are now reserving specific Vehicle sites! See below for photos and descriptions of each site A through W. Note: Site U is for Handicapped Parking / Camping ONLY.
