Membership Appreciation Weekend

Each year, OLT celebrates and gives thanks for our members during Membership Appreciation Weekend. Anyone can become a member, and no members are turned away. With so many fun-lovin’ folks, we ask everyone to be especially mindful of one another and our delicate space. We will waive the capacity limits for this weekend so all members are welcome. For those of you who haven’t attended a member appreciation weekend, be aware that there will be more people here than normal.

Membership Appreciation Weekend will be combined with our annual Outreach Board Meeting. Join us for the Board Meeting in the Bishop Pavilion on Saturday and meet our Board of Directors!

This year is the 25th Anniversary of Orient Land Trust.

In 2001, Terry and Neil Seitz and many long-time visitors, created Orient Land Trust. In December 2009, they donated Valley View Hot Springs and the Orient Mine to the Orient Land Trust to preserve the land and ecosystems that have thrived here for centuries.

We look forward to celebrating this milestone with all of our precious members!

What to know:

Everyone must be an active member (children 18 and younger not included).

If you would like indoor accommodation or a vehicle site, we recommend booking in advance. (Note: guests are calling exactly 3 months ahead for these reservations)

Meanders Clean-up – September 7th, 2026

Join us to clear the meanders from the Hydro run off to the Reservoir at the Everson Ranch. We will be removing the willows and debris from the meanders to protect and maintain the flow of water. The water flows down to the ranch and is used for irrigating the hay fields and gardens, This water is also incredibly important for the reservoir. The Everson Ranch Reservoir hosts two species of fish, the Rio Grande Sucker and the Rio Grande Chub. Both are state-listed as endangered in Colorado and are currently petitioned for federal protection due to dwindling populations, irrigation diversions, and competition with invasive fish species. (Learn more here!)
